What are Netbooks
Netbooks are the mini version of laptops. These are inexpensive, small and light-weight, thus easy to handle. The initial use of netbooks began in the late 2007 when Asus introduced the Asus Eee PC. However, by late 2008; netbooks became quite popular and now shares an equal market space with laptops. In the short period since their appearance, netbooks have grown in size and features, now converging with new smaller, lighter notebooks.

Basic Specifications of Netbooks
Netbooks are best suited for general computing and net surfing, basically meant to be connected with friends and loved-ones. You can also listen to songs, play videos and share your photos online. Most netbooks in the market today support Wi-Fi and can also be used on mobile telephone networks. Some also include Ethernet and/or modem ports, for broadband or dial-up Internet access respectively.

Netbooks are now available with good enough storage capacity of 160GB with up to 12” display size. Battery life of netbook is considered to be better than traditional laptops. Netbooks are also available in many colorful designs to attract the user, but netbooks are basically meant for general or basic computing only. If you want to run heavy applications, then netbook is not a suitable choice for you. Though, netbooks are still in the phase of development, more and more improvements can be expected in the years to come to make this gadget more robust in terms of speed and security.
