An Israel based company, ‘Modu’, has recently launched tiny smartphone ‘Modu T‘, weighing just 60 grams and measuring only 7.5 cms. Modu T is already listed in the ‘Guinness Book of World Record’ as the lightest touch mobile phone in the world.
Modu T is a 3.5 generation smartphone with a 2.2 inch touch screen and 2GB of memory, which is expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card. It will have a simple user interface, with preloaded content and applications. It is based on Qualcomm’s Brew operating system and equipped with an array of Java-based applications, including Facebook, Flickr Snaptu, media player TuneWiki, and Google search widget.
Modu comes with various “jackets” to enhance the handset’s capabilities. The “camerafy” jacket makes this phone equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, while the “textify” jacket gives it a full QWERTY keyboard feature. The price of this handset is expected to be in range of $250 US – $350 US.
